Logarithms and Exponential
Functions
A logarithm is the degree to which a number (x) must be raised to achieve
a number (y). For example:
log10x = y
This means 10 must be raised to the y power to have a value of x.
10y = x
Common Logarithm
Logarithms with base of 10 are called common logarithms. For example:
log x = y notice there is no base, because it is implied to be a common log.
Natural Logarithm
Logarithms with base of value e (a scientific theoretical value) are called natural logs.
Logex = y is the same as Ln x = y notice there is no base, and it is called a
Natural Log To find the corresponding number to a Logarithm is AntiLogarithm, or
"AntiLog"
Log5x = 5
x = 55 x = 3125
