Directions from Asheville NC to 'Blueberry Hill' Rental Cabin

From Asheville take I-40 West . From the intersection of I-40 and I-26 travel 18 miles to Exit 27, Hwy 19/23/74 West, going towards Atlanta/Cherokee/Waynesville/Bryson City. You will see signs labeling this highway the 'Great Smoky Mountain Expressway'. Stay on this four lane highway for 49 miles - DO NOT EXIT- .

 Close to the Nantahala Gorge the road narrows to two lanes at the intersection of Hwy 19/74 and Hwy 28 to Fontana. From this intersection Highway 19/74 is labeled, 'The Scenic Waters Byway' and you are approximately 20 miles from the 'Blueberry Hill' cabin, passing the Nantahala Outdoor Center on the way. At the US Forest Service Nantahala River Launch Site Park turn left onto Wayah Road, Britannia Drive is about 8 miles on the right, directly opposite Aquone Baptist Church.

The 100 mile, 2 hour trip is a beautifully scenic drive past the Nantahala river, through breathtaking parts of our National forest and the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina.
