The
City of Anniston Parks and Recreation Department proudly presents the
11th Annual Woodland-Calhoun Century Challenge Bike Ride March 20th.
The City of Anniston invites all cyclists to the Anniston-Calhoun
County area for a great weekend of cycling.
The
challenge will offer 25, 50 and 100 mile options beginning and ending
at the City of Anniston's fantastic athletic facility - Woodland Park!
The 25 and 50 mile routes are mostly flat with only a few small hills.
However, the 100 mile option includes two tough climbs in the
Talladega National Forest east of Piedmont and a winding, challenging
hill just outside of Jacksonville. Set in the foothills of the
Appalachian Mountains, the ride course passes over country creeks,
through small southern towns such as Jacksonville and Piedmont, and
into a section of the Talladega National Forest. All routes will be
clearly marked.
Rest
stops, SAG vehicles, a souvenir T-shirt, a post-ride BBQ,
and excellent cellular phone and radio communications are provided to
make your ride as pleasurable and memorable as possible.
We
welcome cyclists from all over the country to Anniston for the
Woodland-Calhoun Century Challenge Bike Ride.
